Andro Wekua in the Magasin Art Center in Grenoble

As Andro Wekua said: the backside of his installation is as important as the frontside. His sunset is an enlarged drawing on tiles in the middle of the exhibition space. The installation is constructed on a metal structure which evocates the industrial structure of a great storehouse space. When you write a postcard with a sunset photographfrom a touristic place where you are spending your holidays, the difference between the sunset and your real experience of the place, is written on the backside. In this case it is this big sized metal structure which shows the difference of what you think the sunset is. In the exposition room next to the installation Andro Wekua and Daniel Baumann did expose their subjectifs views of the horizon in contemporary art in a very eclectic way and without any reference to the historical fact that the uninterrupted horizon in art history is a recent invention from Philip de Koninck in 1640. The most interesting picture and one of the only one shown in the catalogue is a large Steven Parrino painting.
